Athletics Fee — Executive Order Number 1030

Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 1030, which authorizes California State University, Los Angeles to establish a campus-based mandatory Athletics Fee. 

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

Title:

Mandatory Athletics Fee

This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035 and 89700, Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Section II (i), and Board of Trustees’ Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective February 13, 2008, California State University, Los Angeles is authorized to establish a mandatory Athletics Fee at the rate of $15 per quarter.  This fee can be increased annually by the percentage increase of the State University Fee rate or 10 percent, whichever is lower.  Upon approval of this fee, the athletic department at CSULA will no longer receive an allocation from the Associated Students Incorporated.  Revenue from this fee will support student-athletic scholarships and general operating expenses in the athletic department at CSULA.  In accordance with Section 89721(l) of the Education Code, revenue collected from student fees shall be deposited in a local trust account.
