Attached is a copy of Executive Order No. 1003, which authorizes California State University, Channel Islands to establish the above listed fees.

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president has responsibility for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

Title:

Miscellaneous Course Fees BIOL 204, 404, 405, 407, 451; CHEM 110; Math 137 and 437 at California State University, Channel Islands
 

This executive order is issued under the authority granted by Education Code Sections 89035, 89700, 89703, 90002, and 90012 and Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter II i, and Board of Trustees’ Resolution RFIN 03-04-00, and consonant with Executive Order Number 740. Effective March 12, 2007, California State University, Channel Islands is authorized to establish the following Category III miscellaneous course fees at the specified fee rates: Course FeeRate Costs covered by the fee BIOL 204 - Computer Applications in Biology $25 Cost for license fees, consumables such as printer, cartridges, paper and special software BIOL 404 - Plant and Animal Tissue culture $75 Tissue culture media components such as buffers, amino acids, nutrient supplements, enzymes etc.  as well as disposable supplies such as flasks culture plates and pipet tips BIOL 405 - Biochemical Engineering $75 Operating and maintaining fermenters/bioreactors, growth media and sterile equipment and bioseparations and protein purification kits.  BIOL 407 - Field Ecology $40 Lab fee for measuring tapes, quadrats, field note books, stakes, sampling devices, animal traps, plant press, and other lab materials BIOL 451 - Ornithology $40 Bird specimens, binoculars, slides, eggs, feather and skin collections, chemical reagents, field guides and mist nets for field work CHEM 110 - Chemistry of Life $25 Laboratory materials including but not limited to graphs and charts, goggles and lab experiment workbooks MATH 137 - Strategies and Game Design $25 Game manipulatives, game engines, software, handouts, memory sticks, zip discs and other small equipment MATH 437 – Math for Game Development $25 Graphing software, game engines, handouts, handheld graphic tools and small hardware, zip discs and other similar products. In accordance with Section 89724(l), revenue collected all higher education fees should be deposited in a local trust account unless otherwise specified.
