Due to the annual fluctuation of the ratio of men and women who are academically eligible to participate in NCAA athletics, the Monitoring Committee agreed to establish target percentages based on a three-year average of men and women eligible students as reported in fall 1995, 1996 and 1997. In addition, the Committee agreed to carry percentages out by two decimal points to allow for greater precision. It was agreed that these changes provide a more accurate reflection of the percentages of NCAA eligible students.

*Adjustments were made to 1996 NCAA eligibility figures for San Francisco State and to 1995 NCAA eligibility figures for CSU Long Beach due to errors in original submissions (December 1999).
