The CSU is required to construct and maintain its facilities in compliance with the 2007 California Building Code (CBC) as adopted by the Building Standards Commission (BSC).

This applies to all new CSU construction and renovation work as well as maintenance operations.

Building code plan reviews for CSU capital projects (state or nonstate) may be performed directly by the campus deputy building official or, on their behalf, by any of the authorized plan check firms noted below.

Documenting Building Code Compliance (Plan Check Approval) needs to be recorded in some form for each project. This may be evidenced on Plans by stamp & signature of the Campus Deputy Building Official and for Major Capital Projects as a part of the Campus Approval to Proceed to Bid Notice.
