Summary of Results
Enrollment in all college preparatory courses increased
over the pre-CAPP years.
Culver City Unified School District provided access to
Algebra I for all 8th and 9th graders beginning in 1995.
Enrollments in Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 doubled
over preCAPP years.

Measures of enrollment and achievement suggest that Culver
City's strongest students are thriving in mathematics.
Enrollments in honors and advanced courses have doubled
over pre-CAPP years.
Golden State Exam awards have doubled over pre-CAPP years.
MDTP Algebra Readiness results suggest that the top 15%
of all students were better prepared for 8th grade algebra
in 1995- 1996 than in pre-CAPP years.
70% of all students in Culver City High School had passed
algebra or higher in Spring, 1997.
There has been no increase in failure rates among students
typically identified as "high risk"; however, the high percentage
of unsuccessful students in mathematics continues to be
a concern.
Students of all ethnicities and both genders benefited
from the enrichment program.
When aggregated, pass rates in both algebra and geometry
showed statistically significant gains for both minority
and traditionally successful groups of targeted 9th graders.
