Eligibility — Bereavement/Funeral Leave

The following employee categories are eligible for bereavement/funeral leave from the date of hire:

Physicians (Unit 1);

CSUEU (Unit 2,5,7,9);

Faculty (Unit 3);

Academic Professionals (Unit 4);

Skilled Trades (Unit 6);

Public Safety (Unit 8);

Operating Engineers (Unit 10);

Academic Student Employees (Unit 11);

SFSU Head Start Employees (Unit 12);

Excluded (E99, Police Officer Cadet only);

Confidential (C99);

Management Personnel Plan (M80);and

Executives (M98)

The following employee categories are ineligible for bereavement/funeral leave:

English Language Program Instructors (CSULA only) (Unit 13);

Excluded (E99, except Police Officer Cadet);

Student Assistants;

Youth Summer Aid employees;

Trade rate employees;

Rehired Annuitants;and

Special Consultants
