Linda A. Lang is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Jack in the Box Inc. a restaurant company that operates and franchises Jack in the Box restaurants, one of the nation's largest hamburger chains. Additionally, through a wholly owned subsidiary, the company operates and franchises Qdoba Mexican Grill, a leader in fast-casual dining.
Since joining Jack in the Box in 1984, Ms. Lang has held various positions of increasing responsibility in marketing, operations and finance. Previously president and chief operating officer, she was named chairman and CEO in October 2005. Ms. Lang is also a board member of The Jack in the Box Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses the company's charitable giving to make a difference in communities where employees, franchisees and guests of Jack in the Box restaurants work and live.
In addition to her responsibilities at Jack in the Box Inc., Ms. Lang is actively involved in several civic and corporate organizations. She serves on the board of directors for the WD-40 Company, as well as on the boards of San Diego State University's College of Business Administration and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation.
In 2008, Ms. Lang was recognized by Forbes.com as one of the top 10 female CEOs in the country. She was also recognized by Latino Leaders magazine in 2008 as one of the top candidates for service on corporate boards and she was recognized by Hispanic Business magazine as one of it's 2008 Women of the Year. In 2007, Nation's Restaurant News honored Ms. Lang with a Golden Chain Award for her achievements and career accomplishments.
Ms. Lang has a master's degree in business administration from San Diego State University and a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
