Dixon, of Sacramento was born and raised in McKinleyville, California. He graduated from Humboldt State University in May 2010, with a degree in economics and is currently working on his master's degree in economics at Sacramento State. While at Humboldt, Dixon was active in the speech and debate team, economics club, and Associated Students. He served the California State Student Association as external vice chair in 2009 and president and CEO in 2010. Dixon also served on the City of Eureka Finance Advisory Committee, Humboldt County Human Rights Commission, and Eureka Chamber of Commerce, and was chair of the Humboldt County Republican Central Committee from 1998-2000. Dixon is currently an Assembly Fellow working in the office of Assembly Member Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber). He was appointed to the position of Student Trustee on the CSU Board of Trustees in 2010 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
