Commendation in Honor of Senator Celia Adams for Service on theCommittee on Teacher Education and K-12 Relations

WHEREAS, Celia Adams, as a teacher at Harrison School in Los Angeles Unified School District, has contributed many years to the education of youth at the elementary, secondary and university levels in the United States and overseas; and
WHEREAS, Celia Adams has demonstrated her continued dedication to her students by continuing her education, earning a master’s degree in bilingual/multicultural education in an effort to address the learning and language needs of her students; and
WHEREAS, Celia Adams demonstrated her willingness to share her expertise beyond her school and district by serving on the Committee on Teacher Education and K-12 Relations during 1995-96 with no compensation; and
WHEREAS, Celia Adam’s contributions to the Committee on Teacher Education and K-12 Relations were appreciated by all members of the Committee and helped to remind the Committee of the many challenges facing K-12 schools; therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University commend Celia Adams for her extraordinary service to the Committee on Teacher Education and K-12 Relations and extend its appreciation to her and to the Principal of Harrison School for enabling her to serve on the Committee.
