Resolution in Honor of Marvin L. Klein

WHEREAS, Marvin L. Klein has been involved as an elected senator at Cal Poly Pomona since 1985 and the Academic Senate  of the California State University since 1994; and 

WHEREAS, Marvin has served as vice chair and chair of the campus Academic Senate; and

WHEREAS, Marvin has a demonstrated commitment to small “d” democratic decision-making; and

WHEREAS, Marvin has been a strong and articulate voice for the faculty     throughout all of his service; and

WHEREAS, That strong voice has always been modulated by reason and tolerance, even when dealing with unreasonable administrators, and

WHEREAS, Marvin chose an academic appointment in Japan for a year? or two?, rather than seek certain re-election to the Academic Senate of the California State University; therefore  be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University express its appreciation to Marvin L. Klein for his service to his campus and to this body; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU wish him well in his assignment in Japan and beyond.
