Resolution of Commendation for Harold Goldwhite
WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite has served the Academic Senate of the California State University as its fearless leader, visible and ever-present advocate in his role as Chair from 1993 - 1995; and
WHEREAS, In the two years of his tenure as Chair of the Academic Senate CSU, he has championed the cause and clarified the role of the faculty in the CSU with courage, clarity, insight and intelligence, and never permitted himself to be sidetracked or intimidated by challenges; and
WHEREAS, He has spoken fearlessly and tirelessly (electronically and orally) on behalf of the faculty to legislators, before legislative committees, to trustees, to presidents, to the chancellor - with dignified poise, articulate phraseology, equipoise, symmetry of character and with jocularity when the occasion arose; and
WHEREAS, Harold has been model for us all as an aesthete, gourmet, music lover, theater-goer with a most phenomenal recollection of detail; and
WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite will be sorely missed also because he is the undisputed Senate authority on abbreviations, acronyms, and initialisms; therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University, your colleagues and friends, wish you continued success, happiness, health, and a constant warm wind at your back as you choose the next set of challenges to match your talents.
