Endorsement of Modifications to the Supplementary
Authorizations in the Sciences

WHEREAS, The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) establishes supplementary authorizations; and

WHEREAS, There has been general dissatisfaction with the supplementary authorizations as they have been structured in the sciences; and

WHEREAS, The CTC’s proposed modifications provide many improvements to the existing supplementary authorizations; and

WHEREAS, The modifications provide for greater breadth in the sciences and follow the California State Science Framework; and

WHEREAS, The proposed science supplementary authorizations also parallel the newly adopted Science Credential; and

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University endorse the modifications being proposed by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing to restructure the Science Supplementary Authorizations.
