Commendation of Donn Silvis

WHEREAS, Donn Silvis has served with distinction on the Academic Senate of the California State University (CSU), representing CSU Dominguez Hills, since 2003; and

WHEREAS, Donn Silvis was awarded the Lyle E. Gibson Award for Distinguished Teaching for 2006 at CSU, Dominguez Hills; and

WHEREAS, Donn Silvis has served the faculty, Academic Senate CSU, and the CSU thoughtfully and professionally; and

WHEREAS, The CSU, faculty, students and others who have worked with him have benefited from his knowledge, diligence and commitment to shared governance; and

WHEREAS, He has provided the Academic Affairs Committee with sound counsel; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU bestows its thanks and gratitude upon Donn Silvis for his exemplary service and contributions; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU wishes health and happiness to our esteemed Senatorial colleague, Donn Silvis, and its best wishes for his continued success in his career in higher education.
