Commendation of Nancy Hunt

WHEREAS, Nancy Hunt has served California State University
(CSU) Los Angeles and the Academic Senate CSU for three years (it seems like
only yesterday that she arrived); and
WHEREAS, Her light has burned brightly (by burning her candle
at both ends); and
WHEREAS, She has served as a member of the Teacher Education
and K-12 Relations Committee (TEKR)for the past two years (such wisdom is refreshing);
and
WHEREAS, She has been a long time member of the Executive
Committee of the CSU Los Angeles Academic Senate, serving in addition as its
secretary (where she learned to deal with contradictions); and
WHEREAS, She has lent her expertise in the theory and operation
of the Joint Doctorate programs that the CSU has with the University of California
(UC) through her experience as a core faculty member in the CSU Los Angeles-UC Los
Angeles Joint Ph.D. in Special Education, where she has walked many students across
the podium each June to receive their Ph.D. degrees; (after walking them through all
the complexities of working with the University of California); and
WHEREAS, Those who have worked with her have come to appreciate
her depth of knowledge, diligence, and commitment to the faculty of the CSU; therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU commend Nancy Hunt for the
excellence of her service to TEKR and to the Senate, extending its deep gratitude for
her time and effort assisting with the reports and recommendations of the Senate regarding
the new doctorate of education degree, and wish her continued success in her work on the
CSU Los Angeles campus.
