Commendation for Senator Raford D. Boddy

AS-2668-04/San Diego - May 6-7, 2004

WHEREAS, The budget crisis of the early 1990s prompted persons of extraordinary talents to be mobilized to protect the faculty and academic integrity of San Diego State University and the California State University; and

WHEREAS, Raford D. Boddy was elected for three years as Chair of The Senate at San Diego State University; and

WHEREAS, Raford D. Boddy was then elected and served with distinction as a Senator in the Academic Senate CSU for six years; and

WHEREAS, During that period of service, Raford D. Boddy became recognized for sage advice, incisive and insightful analyses of matters, and propriety in the conduct of the affairs of the body and its committees, and

WHEREAS, Raford D. Boddy's contributions to the Academic Senate CSU have been substantial, recognized by his election to the Executive Committee as a Member-at-Large and his assumption of responsibilities for special tasks; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU bestow its thanks and gratitude upon Raford D. Boddy for his exemplary service and contributions in ways too many to enumerate; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU wish health, happiness, and longevity to our esteemed Senatorial colleague, Raford D. Boddy, during his retirement.
