Commendation of Lester Pincu upon Retirement from the
Statewide Academic Senate

AS-2618-03/EX - May 8-9, 2003

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu has energetically and indefatigably served this Senate for fifteen years; and

WHEREAS, In serving the Senate, Lester Pincu has brought to bear the expertise of his many titles and degrees including CGP, Certified Group Therapist; CCP, Certified Clinical Psychotherapist; MFT, Marriage and Family Counseling for the good of the whole; and

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu has assiduously served on the Executive Committee for four years; and

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu has served dutifully under a plethora of Chairs: Ray Geigle, Sandra Wilcox, Harold Goldwhite, Jim Highsmith, Gene Dinielli and Jackie Kegley; and

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu has faithfully attended every Academic Senate CSU meeting during those fifteen years except the one day that the skies over LAX were a no-fly zone because of the Pope;

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu created the Summary of the Plenary Session and almost always delivered them to Academic Senate CSU within two working days of the most recent meeting; and

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu has served on many committees, including but not limited to Academic Affairs, Chancellor's Advisory Board on Students with Disabilities, Statewide Assistive Device Committee, Chancellor's Aids Task Force, Commission on Extended Education, ICAS, IMPAC and other initialed committees; and

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu vocally took on YRO and CETI by requesting a business plan; and

WHEREAS, Lester Pincu actively campaigned for Domestic Partner recognition as well as ROTC anti- discrimination policies; be it therefore

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU heartily commend and thank Lester Pincu for his many contributions to the Academic Senate CSU and wish Lester Pincu a fine retirement.
