Commendation for Jacquelyn Kegley

WHEREAS, Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley has served with great distinction and accomplishment as Chair of the Academic Senate of the California State University for three terms; and

WHEREAS, Professor Kegley has always conducted herself with the highest ethical standard in her own behavior and insisted on the same for the Senate in its actions on behalf of the faculty, students, and citizens of California; and

WHEREAS, Professor Kegley has maintained her sense of humor in the midst of parliamentary tangles, political quarrels, grammatical discussions, and budgetary crises; and

WHEREAS, Professor Kegley has ensured that senatorial debates be both vigorous and civil; and

WHEREAS, Professor Kegley has traveled the length and breadth of California, including the labyrinthian halls of Sacramento governmental agencies, on behalf of the CSU faculty; and

WHEREAS, Professor Kegley has chaired the unwieldy Intersegmental Committee of the Academic Senates of the California Community Colleges, the California State University, and the University of California, along with numerous systemwide task forces, committees, conferences; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University thank Professor Jacquelyn Ann K. Kegley for her three years of outstanding and ardent leadership; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University wish Professor Kegley and her family all the very best in the years to come.
