Commendation for Harold Goldwhite

AS-2615-03/EX - May 8-9, 2003

WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite has given outstanding service to the California State University as Professor of Chemistry at CSU Los Angeles, joining that campus in 1962; and

WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite was chosen Outstanding Professor of California State College, Los Angeles in 1967 and CSU Trustee Outstanding Professor in 1978; and

WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite has given exemplary service to the CSU Academic Senate, from the time of his first election in 1988 until 1996 during which time he served as Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee in 1990-1991 as a member of the Executive Committee in 1991-1993 and as Senate Chair in 1993-95; and

WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite greatly advanced the teaching mission of the CSU during his service as Director of the California State University Institute for Teaching and Learning (1996-1998); and

WHEREAS, Harold Goldwhite has provided insightful and courageous leadership as Faculty Trustee from 1998 to 2003, ably representing the view of the faculty on the Board of Trustees, be it therefore

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU express to Harold Goldwhite our deepest appreciation for his leadership, service, and wisdom; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU wishes Harold Goldwhite a joyful retirement and hope that he and Marie have many more years of happiness and fulfillment.
