Resolution in Honor of Senator David McNeil

WHEREAS, Senator David McNeil has served his campus and the Academic Senate of the California State University with great distinction:

• on 54 systemwide committees, task forces, and special committees,



• as chair and vice chair of our standing committee on Academic Affairs,



• as a member of the Executive Committee,



• as a liaison to TEKR,



• as a member of the Master Plan Working Group on Student Learning,



• as chair of the SJSU Academic Senate, and

WHEREAS, Senator McNeil has represented San José State University with great devotion and skill, and

WHEREAS, David McNeil's droll wit, trenchant but understated remarks, and self effacing modesty cannot conceal his superb leadership, wise counsel, and extraordinary service, therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University applaud Senator McNeil for his service on behalf of the CSU and the State of California and wish him a delightful journey to Italy this next academic year; and be it further

RESOLVED: That the ASCSU extend its deep gratitude and admiration for his 15 years of dedication to shared governance and look forward to his return and continued involvement in CSU endeavors.
