Resolution in Honor of Senator Gerald Resendez

AS-2503-00/Northridge - May 4-5, 2000

WHEREAS, Senator Gerald Resendez has exhibited extraordinary patience and tenacity, and has set a California State University, Northridge record by serving four consecutive terms, a total of 12 years, as a member of the Academic Senate of the California State University; and

WHEREAS, Senator Gerald Resendez has served 11 years on the Committee on Teacher Education and K-12 Relations, and one year as Affirmative Action Specialist, contributing his expertise and perpetual good humor to these assignments; and

WHEREAS, Senator Gerald Resendez has consistently and reliably maintained communication between the ASCSU and the CSUN campus, especially with the Education faculty; and

WHEREAS, Senator Gerald Resendez, whose taciturnity is exceeded only by his perspicacity, has positively skewed the signal-to-noise ratio of the ASCSU proceedings with his infrequent but incisive comments in plenary sessions; and

WHEREAS, Senator Gerald Resendez, despite his lame duck status in the ASCSU, takes his appointment to the California Academic Partnership Program Advisory Committee that he is even now meeting with that committee to make sure that its grants go to good projects, and thus cannot be here to hear these words of praise and expressions of appreciation; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University extend to Senator Gerald Resendez its sincere appreciation for long and faithful service and a job
