Resolution in Honor of Senator Peter Clark

WHEREAS, Peter Clark joined the Academic Senate of the California State
University in September of 1994, representing the faculty of
California State Polytechnic University Pomona; and
WHEREAS, Peter Clark has served with distinction as a senator for the past
nine years on the Cal Poly Pomona Academic Senate which
included two years of dedicated service to the Cal Poly Pomona
Academic Senate Steering Committee; and
WHEREAS, His one year of service on the Faculty Affairs Committee was
observed with great collegiality as he spoke for the rights of the
faculty in the CSU system; and
WHEREAS, During his one year of service on the Admissions Advisory
Committee, he earned the respect of his colleagues for his vision
and grasp of the issues; and
WHEREAS, Peter Clark has served on the Fiscal and Governmental Affairs
Committee for one year and provided knowledgeable and
moderate commentary as a participant in Legislative Days; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Fiscal and Governmental Affairs Committee
express sincere regret that Peter Clark will no longer be available
for the assignment of difficult and intractable issues and that his
warm and engaging manner will no longer grace their meetings.
The members hasten to add that this feeling of regret has nothing
to do with the fact that he frequently brought cookies and muffins
for morning meetings and that he offered to host a committee
social gathering at his home; therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That even though he will no longer be an official member of the
CSU Statewide Academic Senate, the committee encourages Peter
