RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University adopt the attached 1995-96 Academic Senate Work Plan.

1995-96 Academic Senate Work Plan
For the Academic Year 1995-96, the Academic Senate of the California State University will organize itself into the following standing committees:
1. Academic Affairs Committee
The Academic Affairs Committee (AAC) will be increased in membership from its 1994-95 level to a minimum of 12 senators. The AAC will choose its work topics from the following items (priority item preceded by an asterisk):
* Accountability
Accreditation (regional accreditation as federal regulation)
Admissions requirements
Affirmative action
Assessment
Community College relations and transferability
Computer/Information literacy
* Diversity and educational quality
Extended education/SUAM
Quality instruction in an adverse environment
* Remediation and pre-baccalaureate instruction
School to Career
The State Master Plan for Higher Education
other items as appropriate to the committee charge
2. Faculty Affairs Committee
The Faculty Affairs Committee (FAC) will maintain its current membership level of a minimum of eight senators. The FAC will choose its work topics from the following items (priority item preceded by an asterisk):
* Accountability
* Affirmative Action
* Criteria and standards for merit compensation
Electronic mail privacy and security
Faculty development and connection to instructional peer evaluation
Faculty involvement in the Chancellors review
Improvement and support for scholarship
Intellectual property rights (distance learning and other new technologies)
Joint decision making
No-confidence votes and the review process
Rights of the accused in sexual harassment cases
Romantic relations
* Tenure
UC Library privileges
Workload and faculty rewards
other items as appropriate to the committee charge
3. Fiscal Affairs and Budget Task Force
A Fiscal Affairs and Budget Task Force (FABC) should be constituted with a minimum of five members, including the Chair of the Academic Senate, one additional member of the Executive Committee, and three additional senators. The FABC will choose its work topics from the following items (priority item preceded by an asterisk):
* Advice to Senate on analysis and implications of state budget
Campus allocations
Debt service on revenue bonds
Implications of "new" initiatives to be funded "off-the-top"
Infrastructure
Shared resources
Student financial aid
* Student fee policy
Uses of Extended Education funds
other items as appropriate to the committee charge
4. Teacher Education Committee
The Teacher Education Committee (TEC) will have a minimum of four members and will choose its work topics from the following items:
Credentialing
K-12 matters
Relations with CTC
School to Career
Teacher Preparation
other items as appropriate to the committee charge
5. Governmental Affairs Committee
The Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC) will maintain its current membership level of a minimum of five senators. The GAC will choose its work topics from the following items (priority item preceded by an asterisk):

6. Technology Task Force
The Technology Task Force (TTF) will continue for an additional academic year with a membership level of a minimum of five senators. The TTF will choose its work topics from the following items (priority item preceded by an asterisk):
* Faculty professional development for use of technology
* Intellectual property
* Student access to computer resources
* Academic policy implications of distance learning

7. Productivity Task Force
The Productivity Task Force (PTF) will continue for an additional academic year with a membership level of a minimum of four senators. The PTF will choose its work topics from the following items (priority item preceded by an asterisk):
* Accountability
* Assessment
* Workload and faculty rewards
