Campus-Based International Programs

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University reaffirm its commitment to ensure that the maximum number of students enjoy an educational experience in one or more foreign countries; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU urge the Chancellor to ensure that the statewide commitment to international programs include the enhancement, encouragement and promotion of campus-based international programs through such measures as:
1. Expediting the consolidation of purchases of such items as air and land travel, accommodations, food, tour guides, cultural events, museum admissions, etc.
2. Widely publicizing and supporting the continuing operation of the current on-line bulletin board providing information about vacancies in campus programs that could be filled by students from other campuses.
3. The encouragement of multi-campus efforts involving foreign educational experiences of varying types and duration.
RATIONALE: This resolution recognizes that most students in the CSU who currently have educational international experiences in one or more foreign countries do so under the auspices of campus-based international programs.
