SUPPORT OF AB 3031 (EASTIN): THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY, K-12

WHEREAS, The California State University is committed to maintaining strong links to K-12 schools, as evidenced by "CSU and the Schools: Partners for Success"; and

WHEREAS, The CSU is moving forward in developing a telecommunication infrastructure that will support a technological link to K-12 schools; and

WHEREAS, AB 3031 (Eastin), as introduced February 22, 1994, would require the Superintendent of Public Instruction to prepare and execute a long-range plan to equip every public school classroom in the state with specified basic technology tools by January 1, 2000; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University support in principle AB 3031 (Eastin): The Use of Technology, K-12 as introduced on February 22, 1994, which would require the Superintendent of Public Instruction to prepare and execute a long-range plan to equip every public school classroom in the state with specified basic technology tools by January 1, 2000.
