Support for AB 3036 (Vasconcellos): Teaching Credentials

AS-2195-94/TE - March 10-11, 1994

WHEREAS, Existing law requires at least 150 clock hours of participation in acceptable activities to maintain a valid teaching credential; and

WHEREAS, AB 3036 (Vasconcellos): Teaching Credentials, as amended April 12, 1994, would broaden the acceptable activities to include the completion of courses or conferences in principles of self-esteem and personal and social responsibility; and

WHEREAS, This would benefit teachers taking advantage of this option by providing training for presentation in the classroom; therefore be it

RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate of the California State University support AB 3036 (Vasconcellos): Teaching Credentials, as amended April 12, 1994, to broaden acceptable activities to maintain a valid teaching credential.
