Appreciation for Dr. Julian Foster, Editor, The Senate Forum

Fresno, Fullerton, Hayward, Humboldt, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Northridge, Pomona,
Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, San Luis Obispo,
San Marcos, Sonoma, and Stanislaus Delegations
WHEREAS, For three years Dr. Julian F. S. Foster, Professor of Political Science
at CSU Fullerton, and august former member of the Academic Senate of the California
State University, has been the Editor-in-Chief of The Senate Forum, a fine and
much-envied publication of the CSU Fullerton Academic Senate; and
WHEREAS, Julian Foster has insured that the junior member of the CSU Fullerton
delegation to the Academic Senate CSU for a time, Keith Boyum, and most recently,
Vince Buck delivered a copy of each edition of The Senate Forum to members and
friends of the Academic Senate CSU; and
WHEREAS, The CSU Fullerton The Senate Forum has provided intellectual stimulation,
discussion of academic and professional issues, and occasional welcome diversion
from the tedium of debate on the floor of the Academic Senate CSU; and
WHEREAS, Those members of the Academic Senate CSU who fondly remember Julian
Foster's participation in debates in the Academic Senate CSU only wish that the
diversion of The Senate Forum had been available to them on those occasions when
Julian Foster took the floor in Senate debates; therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the delegations to the Academic Senate of the California State
University from the nineteen sister campuses commend Julian Foster for his fine
work as Editor-in-Chief of CSU Fullerton's The Senate Forum, and thank him for
insuring the magazine's distribution to the Academic Senate CSU; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU encourage the CSU Fullerton Academic Senate
to continue publication of The Senate Forum, provided that distribution of the
magazine to the Academic Senate CSU be continued; and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU encourage the CSU Fullerton Academic Senate
to revise and upgrade its standards for selecting the Fullerton member who
distributes the magazine, in the hope that better looking delivery persons may
be found.
