In 2010-11, the California State University celebrated its 50th Anniversary as the nation’s leading university system. During the year, the CSU acknowledged its milestones, recognized significant achievements and looked toward the future as a model of academic excellence and catalyst for economic, social and cultural prosperity for the state and its residents.

For more than 50 years the CSU has provided the outstanding teaching, research and innovation that has prepared students to be leaders in the future workforce, helping to build and sustain California’s economy. The CSU’s ongoing commitment to early outreach, reducing achievement gaps, and investment in research, innovation and sustainability ensure the CSU will continue to impact Californians for the next 50 years and beyond.
